UFGS Solution – Protect and Treat Reinforced Concrete Deterioration
UFGS:
a three part solution that reacts with the ferrous hydroxide film on the rebar steel to form a ferrosilicate complex that reduces porosity and protects the rebar steel from further degradation. Seals the concrete and reduces porosity in concrete, thus inhibiting salt, water, air, and contaminants from penetrating.
EXPECTED PERFORMANCE

PERMEABILITY REDUCTIONS

REDUCTION OF WATER-SOLUBLE CHLORIDE ACTIVITY

INCREASE IN CONCRETE STRENGTH

REDUCES CHEMICAL REACTIVITY

ELEVATES CONCRETE PH

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
- Elevating and maintaining the pH level in the concrete – thus maintaining the protective film on the steel rebar ( passivating layer)
- Converting the rebar rust to a hard-inert shell that resists further deterioration
- Providing resistance to acids
- Purging and stabilizing contaminants
- Water repellant for the concrete surface – reduces water penetration.
- Reducing concrete porosity
- Increasing Compressive, Tensile, & Flexural Strength, and Surface Hardness
“The SURTREAT® system, based on measurements of corrosion rate and moisture penetration is effectively protecting the rebar from corrosion. To date, an average reduction in the corrosion rate by 79-80% has been realized.”
