Historic Preservation ✩

Application Note

Introduction

The Problem

Historical structures made of concrete, brick, and stone face unique preservation challenges. Over time, they are exposed to various environmental factors such as pollution, moisture, and biological growth, leading to surface degradation, discoloration, and weakened structural integrity. Preservation of these structures requires a careful approach to cleaning and protection to maintain the integrity of the original materials while ensuring long-term durability.

Mitigation Strategy

To effectively preserve historical structures, we propose the following strategy:

  1. Surface cleaning: Safely remove accumulated dirt, organic growth, and contaminants without damaging the original material.

  2. Surface sealing and protection: Apply protective layers to prevent future moisture penetration and environmental degradation, preserving the historical appearance and structural integrity.
