OUR MOST POPULAR CASE STUDIES

NASA LAUNCHPAD 39A
The Rocker panel base of Launch Pad 39A was experiencing severe concrete deterioration from exposure to a combination of corrosive atmospheric chlorides and fuel emission potassium percolate producing hydrochloric acid effluent from the shuttles rocket combustion system. Surface deterioration combined with wearing and cracking was allowing water to leak though the panel base to a tunnel below.

PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE BRIDGE
Bridge EB-526 carries Sandy Hill Road over the Turnpike at Mile Marker 279.31. The bridge was constructed in 1952 using steel reinforced, air entrained concrete. The road surface is asphalt over concrete. The bridge is in relatively good condition, with some signs of surface deterioration and rebar corrosion. The restoration and protection plan called for: cleaning the bridge surface to remove accumulated grime, removal of the asphalt pavement, and application onSURTREAT TPS II to all concrete surfaces,

COLT FIREARMS
Severe surface deterioration, wearing off, pitting due to heavy equipment use. Severe dusting and poor floor bonding properties. Machine oil spills (stains) on the floor perceived as bond breakers for any future repairs. Difficulty in pre-repair clean up due to oil soaked into the floor and dusting and general floor surface deterioration. Suspected moisture permeation, wicking up from the ground (slab on grade) causing problems with subsequent repairs, floor leveling, coating, re-tiling, etc.
